The day dawned cloudless and calm which was ideal for
our flight to Laconia, New Hampshire. Using
three aircraft, the group divided up for weight and balance and we were off.
To make the flight even more interesting, Maj
Nelson set a south-bound course to fly first to Plymouth, Ma and then head north-bound
along the coast allowing our visiting friends
an aerial look at Boston.
Touch down in Laconia was at about 1015 and we were picked up and transported to a Laconia
favorite, The Kellerhaus, for Sunday Brunch of light fluffy waffles, eggs, sausage or
bacon and an assortment of toppings. It was a
challenge to see who could come up with the most interesting topping. Major Nelson won with a little of everything
including peanuts.
After breakfast we went to the Richaven Cottages on Paugus Bay and settled in for a
day of boating, tubing and swimming. The
jet-ski had a mechanical problem so it was decided not to use it. By late afternoon we were hungry again and we
enjoyed a cookout of hotdogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, baked beans and salads. We had desserts of watermelon, cookies and
smores, but were too full to try them.
Well have another chance at them next
Sunday.
